Identify the switch separately
Record the manufacturer, model, serial and visible rating information from safely accessible labels or existing records. Photograph the exterior and label without opening electrical compartments. Give the switch its own inventory line linked to the generator reference, especially if several switches or generators are present at the site.
Confirm the sale boundary
Ask the responsible facility team whether the switch is being retained, sold with the generator or evaluated separately. Record whether it serves equipment outside the proposed package. Resolve that scope before advertising it as included. A switch that appears in an overview photo should be labeled excluded or undecided if its availability is not confirmed.
Provide evidence rather than compatibility promises
Share applicable equipment records and any documentation connecting the switch to the set. Do not promise that the combination will suit a new installation. Let the buyer’s qualified advisers evaluate the actual models and intended use. Keep configuration questions separate from the fact that the two items previously occupied the same facility.
Compare two clear packages if needed
If both options are available, request a generator-only offer and a generator-plus-switch offer with separate removal assumptions. State who would arrange approved disconnection and any agreed restoration. Record the final included scope beside the accepted price so the switch cannot disappear from—or be added to—the package during collection.
