Inventory individual and shared assets
Give each generator its own set reference and serial record. List shared controls, switchgear and other equipment shown in the available system documentation as separate assets. Mark each as included, excluded or unresolved. Do not assume every component associated with the installation can be sold independently.
Use existing system documents carefully
Collect relevant drawings, equipment schedules and service reports with their dates and revisions. Identify whether they reflect the current installation or an earlier arrangement. Share only authorized information and label known discrepancies. A drawing is useful context, but should not be presented as a verified current survey when changes are undocumented.
Avoid standalone-operation promises
If a buyer wants one unit, ask qualified equipment personnel to identify what must be evaluated for that proposed scope. Do not promise that a removed generator will function independently based only on a prior system test. Keep the buyer’s intended configuration separate from the documented condition of the existing installation.
Request offers against a defined scenario
Specify whether bidders should price the entire identified package, named individual units or both. Clarify shared removal responsibilities and equipment retained for continued site use. Record dependencies and unresolved questions beside each option. Compare bids only after confirming they describe the same assets and preparation assumptions.
