Confirm the exact item in custody
Ask for current identification photos and a unit reference tied to the stored generator. Compare those identifiers with your acquisition or removal records. Confirm whether accessories are stored with the set or elsewhere. A yard location alone does not establish that the unit is complete or unchanged since delivery.
Clarify who approves release
Identify the authorized owner representative and the custodian’s release contact. Confirm any unresolved administrative requirements directly with the responsible parties before promising collection. Do not assume that scheduling a truck is sufficient authorization for the yard to hand over equipment.
Get the yard’s actual collection conditions
Ask for appointment requirements, operating hours and information the custodian needs from the buyer or transporter. Clarify whether any loading service is available and who must assess and approve it. Record what is confirmed rather than translating a general statement of yard assistance into a specific handling commitment.
Align the pickup inventory
Provide the final included-item list to the authorized parties and reconcile it against what is physically present. Record exceptions before the collection date. Keep the buyer’s contact and transport details within the agreed coordination group, and obtain a handover record identifying the collected assets.
