Map the physical arrangement
Use an overview photo and a simple written description to distinguish an attached base tank from separately located tanks. Identify each tank by its available label or site reference. Do not infer that every tank or pipe visible nearby is included. Mark shared or uncertain equipment for the site team to resolve.
Copy documented information
Record readable capacity information with its units and source, along with manufacturer, model and serial where available. Attach existing inspection or maintenance records only when they can be linked to that tank. Avoid estimating capacity from appearance or treating a tank label as proof of present condition or compliance.
Disclose condition and unknown contents
Describe visible condition from safe observation and share existing qualified findings. State whether fuel quantity or condition is documented or unknown. Do not sample, drain or transfer fuel to improve a listing. Ask qualified providers what information and arrangements they need for the proposed removal and transport.
Define the sale and preparation scope
Specify whether the tank transfers with the generator and whether fuel is included, excluded or unresolved. Identify who will obtain any required professional assessment and arrange the agreed preparation. Keep those responsibilities in the offer notes; a price for the generator alone should not silently become a promise to deliver a prepared tank.
