Describe the item to be transported
Provide the exact unit reference, configuration, enclosure or trailer arrangement and included loose items. Supply documented dimensions and weight where available, with the source and what they cover. Mark estimates as estimates. Do not substitute a different model’s published weight or assume an engine-only figure describes the entire assembled package.
Describe both ends of the move
Provide the pickup region and destination information needed for an initial quote. Explain the equipment’s current placement and who is expected to load and unload. If the destination is not yet confirmed, ask how that affects the estimate. Keep detailed access credentials and private contacts out of broadly distributed listing material.
Ask the provider to identify requirements
Share photos of the accessible route and known restrictions without deciding what transport or lifting equipment is suitable. Ask the qualified provider to identify information, surveys or specialist services required before commitment. State any uncertainty about readiness, dimensions or site access so it appears in the proposal instead of becoming an unexpected assumption.
Compare the quoted service boundary
Check whether the quote covers transport only or also specified loading, unloading and coordination services. Record the collection window, exclusions and any stated basis for additional charges. Ask for clarification when a figure is provisional. Keep the accepted transport scope aligned with the generator sale agreement so the same service is neither omitted nor counted twice.
